Scope:The purpose of this recommended practice is to establish the minimum performance requirements for devices used to indicate to the crane operator by visual, audible, or tactile means the movement of a rope drum. This SAE Recommended Practice applies to cranes when used in lifting crane service which are equipped with rope drum rotation indicating devices.
