【摘要】:Properinstallationiscriticaltoeffectiveperformanceofsiltfence.Thispracticepresentsproceduresforinstallingsiltfencethathavebeenshowntoresultinsiltfenceinstallationsthateffectivelyredirectandimpoundsurfacerunoffand,thereby,provideeffectivesedimentcontrol.1.1Thispracticecoverscommoninstallationrequirementsfortemporarysiltfenceapplications.ThispracticeisbasedonAASHTOM288.1.2Thispracticeisapplicabletotheuseofsiltfenceasaverticalpermeableinterceptordesignedtoremovesuspendedsoilfromoverland,nonconcentratedwaterflow.Thefunctionofatemporarysiltfenceistotrapandallowsettlementofsoilparticlesfromsedimentladenwater.Thepurposeistogreatlylimitthetransportoferodedsoilfromtheconstructionsitebywaterrunoff.1.3Thepracticespresentedhereinareintendedtoensuregoodworkmanshipandqualityandarenotnecessarilyadequateforallpurposesinviewofthewidevarietyofpossiblesedimentsandperformanceobjectives.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesininch-poundunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.5Thispracticeoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
