【摘要】:FuelethanolisrequiredtobedenaturedwithgasolineinaccordancewithSpecificationD4806.Stateandfederallawsspecifytheconcentrationofethanolingasolineblends.Thedeterminationoftheamountofdenaturantisimportanttoensuretheblendedfuelcomplieswithfederalandstatelaws.Thistestmethodprovidesamethodofdeterminingthepercentageofethanol(purity)ofthefuelethanolthatisblendedintogasoline.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheethanolcontentofdenaturedfuelethanolbygaschromatography.1.2Ethanolisdeterminedfrom93to97mass%andmethanolisdeterminedfrom0.01to0.6mass%.Equationsusedtoconverttheseindividualalcoholsfrommass%tovolume%areprovided.1.3Thistestmethoddoesidentifyandquantifymethanolbutdoesnotpurporttoidentifyallindividualcomponentsthatmakeupthedenaturant.1.4WatercannotbedeterminedbythistestmethodandshallbemeasuredbyaproceduresuchasTestMethodD1364andtheresultusedtocorrectthechromatographicvalues.1.5Thistestmethodisinappropriateforimpuritiesthatboilattemperatureshigherthan225x00B0;Corforimpuritiesthatcausepoorornoresponseinaflameionizationdetector,suchaswater.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
