【摘要】:Sandwichhoneycombcorematerialsareusedextensivelyinenergyabsorptionapplications,duetotheirabilitytosustaincompressiveloadingwhilebeingcrushed.Properdesignofenergyabsorptiondevicesutilizingsandwichhoneycombcorematerialsrequiresknowledgeofthecompressivecrushstressandcrushstrokepropertiesofthehoneycombcorematerial.Theprocedurescontainedwithinthisstandardareintendedtoassessthecrushstressandcrushstrokepropertiesofthesandwichhoneycombcorematerialunderstaticcompressiveloading.Thedynamiccrushstressofthehoneycombcorematerialmayvaryfromthatmeasuredunderstaticloading,dependinguponfactorssuchashoneycombcorematerialthickness,corematerialdensity,impactvelocity,etc.Thistestmethodprovidesastandardmethodofobtainingthecompressivecrushstressandcrushstrokeforsandwichhoneycombcorematerialstructuraldesignproperties,materialspecifications,researchanddevelopmentapplications,andqualityassurance.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforuseincrushtestingofstabilizedhoneycombcorematerials(forwhichtheedgesofthehoneycombcorematerialaredippedinresintoresistlocalcrushing)orsandwichspecimens(forwhichfacingsarebondedtothehoneycombcorematerial).Factorsthatinfluencethecompressivecrushstressandcrushstrokeandshallthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:honeycombcorematerial,methodsofmaterialfabrication,corematerialgeometry(nominalcellsize),corematerialdensity,specimengeometry,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,environmentoftesting,specimenalignment,pre-crushprocedure,pre-crushdepth,loadingprocedure,andspeedoftesting.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthestaticenergyabsorptionproperties(compressivecrushstressandcrushstroke)ofhoneycombsandwichcorematerials.Thesepropertiesareusuallydeterminedfordesignpurposesinadirectionnormaltotheplaneoffacingsasthehoneycombcorematerialwouldbeplacedinastructuralsandwichconstruction.1.2Permissiblecorematerialsarelimitedtothoseinhoneycombform.1.3Thistestmethodisnotintendedforuseincrushtestingofstabilizedhoneycombcorematerials(forwhichtheedgesofthehoneycombcorematerialaredippedinresintoresistlocalcrushing)orsandwichspecimens(forwhichfacingsarebondedtothehoneycombcorematerial).1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
